Advanced Vocational Training

Education and training at GEA TDS is organized in close consultation between superiors, employees and Human Resources. In addition, GEA TDS benefits from the extensive training and development activities of the GEA Group.

The education and training activities of the GEA Group are structured as illustrated by the diagram below. The GEA Group Academy, GEA TraCe, GEA IT as well as other projects and customized programs are core elements. GEA IT offers training to both individuals and groups at training centres and in the field. The divisions and companies operate further basic, divisional and cross-divisional training facilities.

GEA Group Academy

The virtual GEA Corporate University (GEA Group Academy) created in 1999 provides GEA Group specific management training and development guided by GEA Group strategies. It is the policy of the GEA Group Academy to promote change in the organization in response to competing markets. It is an essential tool to teach cross-divisional corporate knowledge and expertise and contributes to setting global standards in the organization. The Steering Committee of the GEA Group Academy and its control by the Executive Board of the company ensure the Academy’s focus on strategic change in the Group.

Facing changing challenges, the GEA Group Academy agreed to an active learning alliance with the Malik Management Zentrum in St.Gallen in 2004. The GEA Group Academy is now able to provide its executives with access to a highly effective range of services and tools:

  • Carefully researched and well-proven management knowledge
  • Advances and experience in the application of system-oriented management theory
  • Decades of experience in targeted executive and staff training
  • Where desired systematic backup of learning transfer by coaching and by consulting experts until the transfer has been completed

The target group of the GEA Group Academy consists of senior managers, the middle management level and select young talents. The themes addressed are determined by strategic challenges and future competences needed by the GEA Group. The GEA Group Academy is thus a virtual organization for a group of staff who hold already decision-making and leadership functions.

GEA TraCe

The virtual GEA Training Center (GEA TraCe) was set up to address GEA Group requirements and needs mainly in the fields of personality development and soft skills. As a complement to the GEA Group Academy it focuses on the development of personalities and soft skills of our executives.

The target group of the programs consists of young talents, high potentials and executives of GEA Group.

GEA TraCe is driven by the idea that management competence, one of the key resources of GEA Group, breaks down into a knowledge/skills dimension and a personality dimension. GEA TraCe is therefore complementary to the work of the GEA Group Academy.
